Some shake their heads in disbelief; others lean in, eyes wide with empathy. Many walk right up to the piece and start asking questions. That is the power of art, connection, and boldness.

Founder of The Pill Man Movement, Frank Huntley uses art, storytelling, and lived experience to promote recovery awareness and prevent substance misuse. Frank’s powerful life-size sculpture, built from 15 years of his own prescription bottles, travels with him as a visual symbol of both the dangers of opioid dependence, substance use disorder and the hope of recovery.
Through community events and pop-up appearances in public spaces — from city parks and street corners to health fairs and festivals — the project invites people to engage in open, stigma-free conversations about prescription safety, addiction, and healing.
